CFTRI - Central Food Technological Research Institute

CSIR−Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore (A constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi) came into existence during 1950 with a vision to pursue in-depth research and development in the areas of food science and technology. Research focus of CSIR-CFTRI has been revolved around broadly into the following areas:

 

  • Engineering Sciences
  • Technology Development
  • Translational Research
  • Food Protection and Safety

 

CFTRI conducts an entrance exam for admission into its M.Sc. (Master of Science) programs in Food Technology, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, and Food Nutrition and Dietetics.

 

Eligibility:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Agriculture / Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 55% marks for General/ EWS/ OBC candidates/ Defence Personnel and 50% for SC/ST/PwD students from a recognized University (candidates waiting for final year results can appear for the entrance test, however, admission will be subjected to the above criteria).
  • For Industry Sponsored candidates:- Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Agriculture / Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 55% marks and two years industrial experience in a Food and allied industry is the eligibility.

 

Age limit: No limit as long as the candidate fulfills the educational requirements.

A correct answer= plus 1 mark

An incorrect answer= minus 0.25 mark

Subjects included: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany & Zoology, Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Biochemistry & Nutrition, Agriculture & Dairy Technology, Food Engineering, Mental Ability, General Awareness on health & wellness.
